hese bookcases were made from vertical grain Douglas Fir plywood and solid old growth Douglas Fir. The top is solid vertical grain Douglas Fir. The top was made oversized so that the waste on the edges could be folded over to form a seamless vertical grain look and avoid the plain sawn edge that would normally be visible. This was done on the shelves as well. These were done for a couple who have a deep appreciation for the classic Arts and Crafts style. They have a beautiful Arts and Crafts home in Port Townsend, Washington.
